Biography

Rodney B. Leach, One of the most patriotic and kindest men I have ever had the honor of knowing. Rest in peace and hugs to Jerry, Wade, Herb and Alice waiting in heaven with you.

LEROY — Rodney B. Leach, of LeRoy, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Samaritas Senior Living.

He was 73. Rod was born December 21, 1943, in Cadillac, Michigan, to Herbert K. and Alice (Farnum) Leach, and they preceded him in passing.

Mr. Leach had worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring.

He served in the United States Army in Germany and was an active member of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard for seven years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and had many fond memories of trout camp.

He could be found puttering in his garage or watching University of Michigan or Detroit Lions football.

He is survived by his significant other, Jackie Campbell of LeRoy; daughter, Christina (Robert) Sallee of Kentucky; grandchildren, Travis (Samantha), Jessica, Brandon and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Chloie and Tiffany; several nephews and a niece; and Michael (Annette) Pfeifer of Coldwater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by three brothers, Jerry, Wade and Gene and 5 nephews Greg, Kelly, Shane, Rick and Randy Leach of Traverse City.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017, at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Jim Helmboldt officiating, with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.

Friends may meet the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. His final resting place will be will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac.
